Empowering Futures: Careers Guidance at Dawn House School

At Dawn House School, we are dedicated to providing high-quality careers guidance to help our pupils make informed decisions about their future pathways. We work closely with an external Employability and Careers service to offer one-to-one careers guidance for pupils in Year 10 through to Year 13.

Our Careers Guidance Aims

Our careers programme is designed to:

  • Support pupils in Years 10-13 in exploring their strengths and understanding various career pathways.
  • Actively involve parents and carers by sharing transition and action plans and inviting them to careers-related events.
  • Provide professional development for staff on pathways, opportunities, progression, and the current labour market.
  • Connect with employers, further education institutions, and specialist providers to ensure pupils have access to both work-based and further education opportunities.

Careers Support at Dawn House School

We are proud to collaborate with the Direct Education Business Partnership (DEBP) to provide expert careers guidance. Our dedicated careers advisor, Eric Bowyer, visits the school one day a week to offer tailored support for pupils, helping them plan their next steps with confidence. More details about DEBP can be found on their website: www.debp.org.

The download below provides an introduction to Eric and outlines what will be discussed during a careers guidance meeting.
