House Event: Celebrating Creativity Through the Arts

This morning, our school came alive with creativity, collaboration, and competition as students took part in a vibrant house event centered on the arts. The event aimed to inspire pupils to embrace their creative talents while earning points for their respective houses.
The day was packed with exciting activities, each designed to showcase different aspects of the arts. Students rotated through a variety of stations, each offering unique opportunities to learn, explore, and create.
The Activities
House Music Making
In the Music Room, under the guidance of Mr. Metcalfe and Mr. Hodgkinson, students joined forces to compose and perform music. The atmosphere was buzzing as teams worked together to create melodies that were both catchy and competitive.
Glow Up & Move
In the Drama Room, Miss Hudson-Scott and Mr. Gething led students through an energetic session combining movement and expression. This station encouraged students to explore drama and dance while showcasing their individuality and team spirit.
Indian Fine Dining
The Food Tech Room transformed into a culinary haven as Miss Gee introduced students to the art of Indian fine dining. Pupils embraced the chance to learn new cooking techniques and create dishes that tantalized the taste buds.
Drama Games
The Sixth Form area was a hub of laughter and energy as Miss Morritt and Mr. Hutsby facilitated engaging drama games. These activities encouraged teamwork, quick thinking, and creativity.
Dawn House Landscapes
In the Art Room, Mrs. Walker and Mrs. Maxwell guided students in creating artistic interpretations of landscapes. Using a variety of techniques and materials, pupils brought their visions of the outdoors to life.
Ruler Painting
The Junior classroom was home to a unique art activity led by the Wellbeing Team. Students explored the creative possibilities of ruler painting, crafting striking geometric designs while focusing on mindfulness and relaxation.
A Celebration of Talent and Teamwork
Throughout the event, students embraced the opportunity to express themselves, learn new skills, and contribute to their house totals. The creativity on display was nothing short of inspiring, with every house bringing its own flair and enthusiasm to the activities.
